I've received many inquiries about flyfishing in Korea from some foreign flyfishermen for last several years. They mainly visited Korea for business not just to flyfish, but were interested in learning about the possibilities of flyfishing in this beautiful country.

Of course, among them there were a few who wanted to visit Korea only for flyfishing. I answered the questions to the best of my ability, but apparently the answers were not very satisfying. They were not very detailed because, at the time, I didn't have the energy to answer
their questions one by one and I also had some language obstacles.

To these foreign flyfishers who wanted to visit only for flyfishing I am very sorry not for providing them all the information they wanted.

I had a similar experience when I had a chance to fish for Taimen in Mongolia. Before I went, I discovered how difficult it was to get information about Taimen fishing and find a guide who could speak English. I was in the same position as those who want information about Flyfishing in Korea and don't know where to start. As you might guess, my weeklong Taimen fishing trip was spoiled due to the lack of information and the ability to find an English-speaking guide.

After this experience, I realized how important it is to get quality information about the place and type of fishing before planning any fishing trip!!! This is why I opened this site.

I hope many flyfishermen who would love to fish Korean streams can use this site. This site offers an overview of flyfishing in Korea, trout families in Korea, information on trout streams and proven outfits & hooks that work in Korean streams to help you in planning your trip.

It also offers my fishing reports on current stream conditions.

I would like to thank my special friends: PK who established SnF with me and also helped in creating this site; My special fishing friend Bob Silva, from America, who encouraged me to make this site in English; Mr. Okuda and Mr. Keizo of FFF JAPAN who let me know how to share self-experiences with others; and Yoshikazu Fujioka who taught me many things about the trout family and inspired me to make this site.
