****JB's Fishing Trip in Kamchatka(09-19,August,01)**** (Photos by PK)

He didn't accept the set because the trade is not unfair.He think my rod set is higher than his knife. He gave me another big one and the trade was contracted.

The Knives are handmade and very beautiful. I carried the small one with me all through my fishing trip. But the big one had to stay in Kamchatka.In Petrofavlofsk airport,the airport officer didn't allow me bring it to my home.Very sorry.

They treated us to 'Uha'(Russian fish soup).They were all kind and pleasant.

Rafting.GO GO GO!!!

We rafted at least 3-4 hours a day.The rafting boat does about 7km an hour.We ran about 130km for 7 days tortally.

Inharmonious match only for cooking.

Whenever the boat stopped for some resting or camping,Igor boiled water with above the pot looked like a backet to the full for making tea.Many Russians enjoy having a tea.When this trip finished,we all members got used to the tea,we had as much as 5-6 cup of tea a day.

He is a hunter and tourism manager. Georg and I have knives of same type.How about his hempen hood?

Kind Georg served me ash- cooked fish(Harius,Rainbow,Kundzha).This food was cooked with lard of pig belly and Russian Herb.Kundzha is a Korean Char that was exterminated in 1974 in Korea.In Japan they call Kundzha Iwana.(Scientific name:Salverinus leucomaenis leucomaenis) My team wanted to see the live one ,not cooked.

Koh caught Kundzha but failed to land the fish.Very sorry!!! I long to restore this fish in my homeland Korea.

From here we suffered from many insects.To make matters worse,it began to rain and didn't stop till the trip finished.

We caught over 60cm Rainbows as well.But could'nt took pictures by still camera. You can see more big ones by video format later.

Koh fished eagerly among us.Of course he met many fish and in case of Dolly varden over 30 fish.

His fishing technic on the boat was so impressive.

At the central market.

In the market,we saw many kind of salmons for eating,smoked salmon and salmon eggs preserved with salt.Pink salmon's eggs is Russians' favorite,Irina said.

I have already thought about when I can go fly fishing to Kamchatka immediately on comming back home.I promised Andrei and Igor to make a team again for Opala river fishing on september next year.Kamchatka I experienced is where we can really feel breathing of Mother Nature .
